Piecing with "Cake Mix" Recipes
In this class, you will use pre-printed "cake mix" recipe papers and 10" squares of fabric to accurately piece perfect half-square triangles with no marking! You will be able to make at least one set in class and learn several ways to sew them together to make a beautiful quilt.
Supplies:
- Sewing machine w/foot pedal, cord, 1/4" piecing foot, and Straight Seam Presser Foot
- One Layer Cake (or 10" Stacker) (42) 10" Squares coordinated fabric
- 3.25 yds background fabric (cut into 42 10" squares)
- One 10" Cake Mix Recipe Card Book (There are 12 different cake mixes available, and we carry all of them).
- Coordinating thread
- Rotary Cutter and Ruler (minimum 14" long). We provide cutting mats.
- General Sewing Supplies: Scissors, snips, pins, seam ripper.
- We have two ironing stations available. If you prefer, you may bring a travel iron and an ironing mat. Please make sure your ironing mat is well insulated. You cannot put a wool pressing mat directly on a formica table.
